Too much stupid this week

It's been an eventful week. Well two days of at least, so far. Started yesterday. I was running the boat for an Intro to Marine Bio lab excursion. Just doing a quick tour of a mangrove creek and a couple of trawls out in the bay. Sort of thing that should go well and smooth....at least other than the typical finding of some snags on the bottom. When we cut the engines back to idle speed and started hauling in the net, one of the undergrads got the bright idea to just get up and jump in for a swim...after already being told by the professor and my first mate that "No your not going for a swim" :smileymad: Takes a special sort of stupid to jump off a moving boat with a nice entanglement hazard trailing astern. When I grabbed him to get him back aboard, it took a lot of self control not to beat him in the process. My future boat briefings will include the warning "if you decide to jump over on your own, you get to swim back to campus" :smileyvery-happy:

Now for today's topper. Despite being a non smoking campus, someone tossed a cigarette butt into the ornamental grass and wood mulch surrounding the front of our building. So I went from figuratively speaking "putting out fires" to actually grabbing fire extinguishers and putting out real fires :smileysurprised: What sort of idiot tosses lit cigarette butts into dry grass and wood chips? :smileymad:

How fast was your dog driving?  Did he yield the right of way as he should have?

Angie,

I like your prescription :smileyhappy:

So who was fault, you or the dog, and is the dog insured? :smileyvery-happy:

Maybe it was the person who couldn't find a discrete place to dispose of a cigarette on a non smoking campus.  Arghhh...
