Bruised toe nail

Over the weekend, I managed to bruise the toe nail on my big toe.  Earlier in the year, I had the same thing happen to another toe.  After about a month, the nail  came off and another nail was growing in.  No problem.  I am thinking I might need to go to a podiatrist and get the nail taken care off.  I have not had any trouble with infections and wounds that would not heal on my feet.  What do you think??

To me, if you aren't having any problems with the process of healing you don't need to go see the doc.

You don't sound too concerned, and you know your toes better than anyone else.

Re: Bruised toe nail

IMHO, sometimes messing with something like your toe - that isn't giving you any trouble, changing for the worse, or infected - can create more problems.  If it was me, I'd keep a close watch on it, but if it just grows out like others have, it should be fine.

Since my diagnosis I have found that any time I was unsure about seeing the doctor or a relevant specialist and delayed, later events showed that I should have gone.

The line dividing 'she'll be right, mate' from hypochondria moved when I was diagnosed.
