A1c Charts and Calculators

Yes, and i think the AG's Bar is set way too high..

meaning? anything Above 5% A1c is High..

Following Both the DCCT and Dr. Bernsteins Charts and methods

If the Ave Non D is 80-90's ? Then why should be have to be as well?

The New eAG being Implemented by the ADA and Others now..

Formula =

A1c

x 28.7

-46.7

= your ave BG's

If the Ave. for Non D's that don't get Any 'Complications' is btwn 80-90? Then Should that not be our Goal?

5% = 143.5 - 46.7 = 96.8 BG's

6% = 172.2 - 46.7 = 125.5 BG's

and Imagine ..If Anytime we go Above 140? We are doing damage to our Organs and Increasing the Chances of Getting those Nasty Complications...That also means not just Fasting or 3 hrs after eating, but ANYTIME.. like 1 and 2 hrs..

Of course, if this were the Goal? It would all but Bankrupt the Insurance Co.'s.. , Medicare , etc.....Imagine..

-More Medications w/b needed

-More Test Strips

-More Insulin Pumps

-More testing ( Blood) from the Current 1x a yr to every 6 mos for T2's not On Insulin to every 4 mos for those On Insulin..

and put alot more Pressure on D's, leading to alot more into Depression, Aniexity and Suicides and Despair would go up.

Insurance Companies would not Insure anyone at or above 5% A1c's

Employers could use that as a Means Not to hire someone with D

Driver's Licenses could be Revoked for anyone above 6% A1c

and the list goes on..

getting a 6% or Less A1c Used to be all but impossible 10 yrs ago, but with the Advent of Newer Medications, More Knowledge available , Newer Insulins and Insulin Pumps, CGMS's etc.?

and I used to ave 6% -6.5% A1cs for yrs and guess what?
I got those 'Complications'...

Which started me really questioning the Medical establishments Guide for what my BG's should Be.. ever Since staying BELOW <6%?
No More Complications ..

The New Norm sb striving for 5% A1c's, not higher..

This would also force alot of D's to Focus and raise Awareness about their D..Create more Self Discipline, be more active and Aggressive.
