5 HTP

Just wondering if anyone takes 5 HTP and if so has it affected your blood sugar?

Dx 12/17/12 A1C 8.5
BG 277
Metformin 500 MG 2Xs day for 2 weeks then 1000 mg 2Xs a day.

3/23/13 A1C1 6.4
Metformin 1000 mg 2 X's a day, staying under 100 carbs per day and at least 90 minutes of exercise per week.

From looking at webmd, I see nothing that suggests it would affect BG one way or another.

Reading Billsreef web md data on the 5 HTP looks to far out there for my body. The warnings give great pause!

I have been taking 5HTP for several years. I have never noticed any BG change.

It wasn't the possible glucose change I was worried about but what else does that affect?

Thanks everyone.
I have been doing a lot of reading on this and low serotonin levels. Webmd seems to have the only negative site out there.
It's interesting in learning how low serotonin is connected with diabetes. I have most of the symptoms of low serotonin so I am going to try it.
