I can do better job by....

We all know the places in our D care where we concentrate and those places where we could pay a little more attention.  Please list your top 3 areas that you can improve on.

For me...

  1. get back to exercising on a regular basis.  it can make such a big
  2. remember to pre-bolus whenever possible.
  3. take that last blood sugar test before you go to bed, even when tired

You go to school to learn, not for a report card.

I copy sunrite, especially number 3, I got myself in so much problems because of

being to lazy not checking before going to bed, so stupid I say, we need to think further

and just, well, use our brains a bit more.

Re: I can do better job by....

Bumping to the top.

Hey guys, if more folks would help contribute to Sunrite's thread, it may have some powerful food for thought - for not just our newer T1's, but for all of us. This thread could be very beneficial, even to those that only read the discussions. None of us are perfect, and there are lots of ways that we could improve. Sometimes the ideas of others, sparks the old light meter, for us all.

Re: I can do better job by....

I could do better by

1. actually eating more low carb, instead of just covering everything with insulin

2. exercising like I used to

3. remembering to use my temp. basal settings when appropriate

Trisha --  if you want to sleep more, you have to spend less hours on these boards :smileyvery-happy:

As for your next post, that was the purpose of this post... to help others.. we all probably overlap with where we slack, and it reminds us to focus.

LOL! I know, I know....less time on the boards. :smileyvery-happy:  I catch heck quite frequently - from the LOML, for spending so much time here. I just tell him this is my volunteer time, since I don't volunteer away from home, anymore. That generally quiets things down - till the next time. :smileyvery-happy: :smileywink:

And that is why I am going to continue bumping it. Anyone can bump a thread, so have at it guys! Let's get this discussion going real good! :smileyhappy:

I'll add one more here...

my # 4.) Try to remember to test Bg, if cgm hasn't gone off yet with a warning, and I'm staring at the screen - or reading the same sentence, over and over.

Mine would be to:

1.  Exercise

2.  Testing before and AFTER each meal

3.  Eating breakfast.  This will be the hardest because I am never hungry in the morning.

Re: I can do better job by....

1. Stop eating food that is slow to digest for me. Or, pay much closer attention so I can use the dual wave on the pump more accurately. 2. Stop snacking at bedtime 3. Document everything, so those cgm graphs are actually helpful (or put anothr way, carb count and stop using the EAsy Bolus so often)

Re: I can do better job by....

1. Fewer carbs! It is something I gravitate to sometimes and I need to stop. Then I wake up at 250. Bla 2. Get back into a regular workout. I fell off the wagon while studying for my last licensing exam and need to get back to it 3. Testing as soon as I wake up and before going to bed....before bed, sometimes I just don't care and I need to
